Ash Roberts founded Ardo in 2024, driven by a vision to create refined, tailored homes that embody the rhythms of daily life. Drawing on experience at world-leading practices, Foster + Partners and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, he brings a global perspective to Australian architecture. His approach blends precision and discretion with a commitment to timeless design and an intuitive understanding of how people live.
Ash began his career in 2011 and practised in London under Norman Foster, contributing to landmark projects including ICD Brookfield Place in Dubai, Principal Tower in London, and Greenwich Peninsula Upper Riverside. After relocating to Australia, he joined GURNER™, where he was appointed Design Director in 2021. In that role, he led the design of Saint Mortitz in St Kilda and directed the customisation of more than 130 luxury apartments, bridging architectural vision with development expertise.
As Founding Director of Ardo, Ash takes a hands-on approach in every project, ensuring each home captures both his clients’ stories and the atmosphere they aspire to create. Guided by principles of integrity, restraint, and functionality, his work enriches daily life through architecture that feels both practical and deeply personal.
