Studio Y’s Founder and Creative Director, Yaron Kanor, has a hospitality and interior design background with projects located in Melbourne, Australia and abroad, including Europe, the United States, China and the Middle East. Before delving into the world of interior design, Yaron was first immersed in the world of hospitality, working front-of-house in bars and restaurants abroad before creating his own chilli-infused boutique liquor brand.
Using his background in hospitality, Yaron places guest experiences at the forefront of his work at Studio Y, understanding the inner workings of hospitality, the value of effective workflow and how to translate them into meaningful design outcomes. His European heritage brings an added dimension to his work, shaping a cosmopolitan and quietly eclectic design perspective that favours texture, personality and layered materiality. Central to his role at Studio Y is a commitment to collaboration, thriving on the shared energy of working with his team, trusted suppliers and clients to realise spaces that feel both intentional and deeply connected to their purpose. His practice today represents the fusion of years of industry experience and two decades of end-to-end design success spanning continents.
