Liz Rodriguez

Co-Owner and Managing Director, Grossi Group

With more than three decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Co-Owner and Managing Director of Grossi Group, Liz Rodriguez’s professionalism and creative flair has greatly contributed to the success of one of Melbourne’s most recognisable restaurant groups.

In 1990, Rodriguez joined Grossi Group and began to establish her restaurant management skills and grass-roots knowledge of the industry, swiftly becoming an integral part of the company. Blossoming in her role and soon becoming a hospitality leader, Liz was quick to make her mark on the Grossi Group venues. With years of professional knowledge up her sleeve, Liz undertook a course at The Australian Institute of Company Directors, graduating in 2015.

Driven by an appreciation for the industry and a passion for learning and development, Rodriguez furthered her knowledge in risk management systems, policy development and people skills, completing her Master of Enterprise at The University of Melbourne in 2022 – with her academic success awarding her a place on the Dean’s' Honours List.

A strategic and results-driven business leader, Rodriguez’s passion for learning and constant improvement has seen her successfully implement policies for innovation, positive culture and sustainable growth throughout her time at Grossi Group.

Rodriguez is also an Executive Council Member at the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and has been commended as a ‘Champion of Change’ for her contribution to McAuley Community Services’ objective to end family violence and homelessness for women and children.

About Grossi Group

Grossi Group is a collection of authentic Italian hospitality venues founded by owner and executive chef, Guy Grossi. While first established in 1986 it was the introduction of Grossi Florentino in 1999, (also home to Grossi Grill and Cellar Bar), that transformed Melbourne’s cultural and culinary dining scene. With the purchase of Ombra in 2012, the group began to grow, now consisting of three Melbourne Italian venues,  and one Perth-based sibling.

About Grossi Florentino
Located at the top of Melbourne’s CBD, Florentino is steeped in Italian tradition with affectionate contemporary expression. The grand and luxurious dining space was founded in 1928 with Guy Grossi taking ownership in 1999. The decorated walls in Italianate murals and ornate light fixtures still breathe life into the venue today adding to the romantic atmosphere. Grossi Florentino embodies its rich Italian heritage, with all dishes handmade and prepared with the finest ingredients, and executed to the utmost perfection – befitting of its grandeur.
